Education

As the Department of Child Health and Diseases, medical faculty students and medical specialization students (research assistants) are provided with education. In Phase III, Phase IV and Phase VI (undergraduate internship), students are introduced pediatric courses on preventive medicine, diagnosing and improving their treatment skills and practical applications are carried out. In Phase IV, students study through 10-week rotations and 8-week rotations are in practice for intern students in our department. Research assistants are admitted to the department in a number of 2-4 people per year depending on the need via the Medical Specialization Examination. Assistant training in our department is for 4 years. During this period, increasing responsibilities are assigned according to experience in different periods of education. Research assistants keep 10 shifts in the first year. During their seniority, they keep 4-6 shifts. They are expected to manage an inpatient service in their last year of training. During the academic year, certain days of the week are organized as training days. Case presentations, mortality and morbidity meetings, article presentations and seminar hours are held during the training days.
