One research assistant is actively working in our department currently. This number is planned to be increased to 6. The duration of assistant training in our department is 5 years. During this time, increased responsibilities are given according to experience. This responsibility reaches the level of managing a service in the last year. Rotations determined during the training period are carried out.

During the academic year, the last day of the week is organized as a training day and weekly case presentation meetings, mortality and morbidity meetings, articles and seminar hours, joint meetings with the Department of Cardiology and council meetings are held. Weekly case presentation meetings are an important element of the in-departmental supervision mechanism and control of preoperative preparations, and are held with the active participation of all faculty members, research assistants, perfusionists and surgical nurses.
